Student Focus Group Success
Special thanks to the 100+ students at Lincoln and Emerson Middle School who shared their ideas on how to improve the future of Park Ridge! The Park Ridge Wonderful outreach team conducted a series of student focus groups on October 3rd and 4th to speak with students about the Comprehensive Plan and gather their input. We came away with a solid list of resounding themes which we will share at the next community workshop on October 15th and send out via an e-newsletter to website subscribers. Visioning Ensues at the Park Ridge Wonderful Workshop!
Thank you to everyone who came out to the Park Ridge Wonderful Visioning Workshop on Tuesday, June 25th at the Park Ridge Library. This was the first community workshop as part of the City’s Comprehensive Plan, which will help shape and guide Park Ridge for the next 10-20 years. So many thoughtful ideas and comments were shared, mapped, and prioritized. Insights included economic development desires and opportunities zones; creative approaches to parking and infill; eco-green initiatives and bridging recycling / composting efforts with businesses and restaurants for bigger, better impacts; the need for events that focus on the many teens and tweens of Park Ridge; creative thoughts on bringing the community together through arts / culture; traffic and mobility recommendations including mini roundabouts, turn-lanes, signs and signals; streetscape needs like brighter streetlights; and ensuring inclusivity, diversity, and a welcome homescape for all residents, races and cultures… to name a few!

It goes without saying that a lot can, and has changed, in the course of two decades, so it’s due time that we check back in with our community to see where opportunities and needs reside!
